Software Company ATS Stays Focused on Customer Service

ATS, a software company headquartered in eastern North Carolina, was established in 1996. It was founded on the shared vision of electric co-ops that wanted to find a more efficient way to manage operations and provide superior customer service to their members. The company has always held to the philosophy that the changing needs of the co-ops should be the driving force for the development of a versatile software package.

From the beginning, ATS has maintained very close relationships with the electric co-ops that use its products. The input of each of its clients has allowed ATS to move forward as technology progresses and evolves. "We plan to continue to look to our clients to drive the growth of our products into the next decade," says Scott Woodward, CEO of ATS. "The vision and ideas of our clients have helped make our products the robust tools that we offer today.”

It is this philosophy that makes co-ops that work with ATS keenly aware that superior customer service is the heart and soul of the company. Darlene Gainus, vice president of marketing and business development, notes that the company’s constant focus on client service has always been a priority. "The ATS commitment to the user goes a long way toward ensuring client satisfaction," she says. "We realize that our clients are often our greatest resource, so we put great value on their input."

The core Synergy product suite offered by ATS, which includes user portals, customer information and billing, reporting, print services, financial information, outage management and mapping, is designed to meet the needs of co-ops large and small. “ATS Synergy provides our clients with the ability to disseminate and act on information quickly,” says Rocky Allen, director of information technology. “This adds value for those co-ops who previously struggled with non-integrated systems.”

With a deep-rooted respect for the varying organizational cultures within today’s co-ops, ATS has designed its software package to allow for ease of use, flexibility and an open development philosophy – one that welcomes working in partnership with other vendors to provide even more possibilities for its clients. ATS is committed to designing its suite of products using emerging technologies that enable the company to stay ahead of the curve and easily adapt to its clients’ needs.

ATS will participate in the 2011 TechAdvantage Expo as an exhibitor and sponsor.
